Curriculum
At the WEE Center, we work to encourage the healthy growth of the whole child through play-based learning. By approaching learning with the Developmentally Appropriate Practices framework we are able to meet each child where they are and with what they are ready for.
Our specials classes such as Art, Music, Science, Library (pre-K), and Movement (Lacrosse in the spring and fall) allow all of our children to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically in ways that meet each child's individual needs.
At The WEE Center, we follow the Creative Curriculum and for teaching handwriting we adhere to the Handwriting Without Tears philosophy.
The WEE Center is licensed by the Maryland State Office of Childcare Administration (CCA), accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and recognized by Maryland Excels at the highest level (Level 5) for its quality child care and early childhood education programming.

A Typical Day at WEE
Snack
Provided by the WEE Center
Circle Time
Using themes, teachers plan age appropriate, developmentally appropriate lessons using games, stories, conversations, books and hands on activities to help children development emerging skills.
Center Time
Learning through areas of the classroom such as blocks, art, books, home living, sand/water table, puzzles, dress-ups, table toys and other manipulative toys. An art project is often part of this time as well.
Clean Up
Children learn to work together to clean up the room from play
Arrival
Children enter classroom meeting and greeting friends and teachers.
Outdoor Play
Children enjoy time on the playground with tricycles, a sandbox, climbers and balls.
Lunch
Children bring a lunch from home. Lunch is eaten together with classmates and teachers. Milk or water is available.
Rest Time
Children bring a fitted crib sheet, blanket and love-y from home
Special Areas of Interest
Science, Art, Music, Bible (Pre-K) & Sports (Spring and Fall)
